Be a Good Steward

Anyone else looking for other shopping alternatives? No? Just me? 👀

Over the last few years, things have shifted, in a big way, for me.

I’ve been more conscious of what we consume, in every way. I’m having to make my dollars stretch a LOT farther. I’ve had to let go a lot of things. I’m reusing and repurposing anything I can. I’m cooking and baking from scratch, gardening, getting chickens, etc. It’s a whole thing! 🌱🐓💐

Since I’m an America First 🇺🇸 kind of girl, I’ve been really conscious of spending my dollars with like minded shops/stores/people, as well as local.

It’s super important to me. God has bestowed upon me blessing after blessing and I must be a good steward of those blessings.

Thankfully, I’ve found one such place that checks many of my boxes.

  • Made in the USA
  • Clean & non-toxic
  • Affordable
    …just to name a few

I am now working to swap all the gross toxic crap with healthier options. Under my kitchen and bathroom sink, in my medicine cabinet, including supplements! I’m really excited to get everything swapped over and share with you my thoughts on it. It’s all part of our journey in going from cottage to farmhouse!

It’s Raining Gratitude

I love a rainy day. Especially thunderstorms.

This morning I woke up to the sound of the rain through an open window. There’s nothing quite like it. Currently, it’s raining its butt off, the thunder is rolling, and the birds are still singing their songs. My neighbor behind me has an aluminum overhang and it makes the most comforting sound.

I am thankful I have the opportunity to be home, sip my coffee, and take it all in. I am thankful I don’t have to be out in it, on the roads with people who can’t handle it.

I am thankful I have a roof over my head and my family is warm and dry. Not that it’s cold, it’s like 65 degrees. But the temps are expected to drop like a rock by this afternoon. By 20 degrees. Welcome to the Midwest!

I am thankful for spring, as it is becoming time to start sowing seeds. The itch to dig in the dirt is strong! I can’t wait to see what the Lord does with our garden this year.

I am thankful for the opportunity to reach and connect with a lot of people through socials and this blog.

I am thankful for the many opportunities and blessings the Lord has and will bestow upon me. And conversely, I am thankful for the trials and tribulations. Without them, the blessings wouldn’t be so great.

Mostly, I’m just thankful for the rain.
